The County's posted September 2026 progress report lists 140 completed community projects, 2,697 completed homeowner projects and 1,035 completed conversions to sewer. These are different measures and are not added together. The report's measurement cutoff date is not stated; it was posted before the September 18 oversight meeting.

April 30, 2022 is the retrospective end of the event period, not a closure action. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service administratively closed the Atlantic-coast event on March 14, 2025, as recorded by FWC. Both sites now use the same wording.

The August 21 written progress report lists 2,666 completed homeowner projects and 905 septic-upgrade reimbursements processed. The County's August outreach summary reports 3,127 homeowner projects and 910 septic upgrades. The definitions, counting basis or timing behind these differences have not been reconciled. This site uses the written report's figures with its date; it does not infer that projects were undone or that the outreach totals supersede the report.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service administratively closed the Atlantic-coast Florida manatee Unusual Mortality Event on March 14, 2025. The retrospectively defined event period ran December 1, 2020 through April 30, 2022; its 1,392 cases comprise 1,255 carcasses and 137 rescues, not 1,392 deaths. FWC reports that Atlantic-coast mortality returned to expected levels; habitat concerns and monitoring continue. The event period and the closure date are different, and closure does not establish full habitat or forage recovery.
Brevard County voters decide the renewal on November 3, 2026. The existing lagoon half-cent sales tax expires December 31, 2026. The ballot proposes continuing the same half-cent rate for another ten years. The Supervisor of Elections has published the official referendum; earlier notices that the wording was pending have been retired. Verified September 15, 2026.
RSM's May 6, 2026 internal audit reported no observations or exceptions in the work it tested. The audit covered June 1, 2025 through January 31, 2026 and included collections, sampled expenditures and procurement compliance. It did not verify every dollar, every project, cost-effectiveness or ecological results.
The September report records completed seeding of 24 million native clams across eight acres near Titusville. Dredging began August 7, 2026; the September report puts it at about 20% complete. Sand capping began June 22, 2026; the first three-inch sand layer is about 60% complete in the September report. These are implementation milestones from the County's posted September 2026 progress report. A seed count is not a survival estimate or a measured lagoon-wide benefit, and a construction percentage is not a water-quality result.
The local evidence and research inventory was structurally checked. That is not a fresh source-by-source verification of every research paper, historical project status or cost. Existing record-level dates and limitations still apply. No claimed ecological gain is attributed entirely to SOIRL.
